How to Host a ColourJot Club

Form or join a ColourJot Club to share resources and discoveries while making time to fill the pages of your own ColourJot art journal.

ColourJotting is enjoyable as a social get-together between friends or family members of different art abilities. The host can pick from three formats for their ColourJot Club.

  • ColourJotters Meet-Up – Participants bring their own watercolours, journals, stencils, and paint together. Sharing and swapping ColourJot stencils and colours are encouraged.
  • Sample Night – Make it a surprise. Participants take turns playing host and provide one stencil and one set of 3 Primes to be shared amongst the participants. Everyone paints the same thing together to see similarities and differences in the mixed colours. Next month, it’s a different host and a different 3 Prime Set.
  • A ColourJot Swap – Each participant chooses and brings a 3 Prime set to complete their colour circle and colour grid while enjoying the camaraderie of the group. Avoid duplication so that at the end of the night, the 3 Primes are swapped, ready for the next meet-up. Every night, you will see the nuances of many ColourJots.

ColourJotting works best in person, but it can also be done via Zoom. It may also be taught as an art class or “Paint Night” style.
